Our Inventory Management analytics dashboard is showing data that’s consistently 2-3 hours behind actual inventory movements. We’re running SAP S/4HANA 1909 with the standard analytics dashboard for inventory tracking.
The issue is particularly problematic during peak hours when we have high transaction volumes. Warehouse staff make inventory adjustments, goods receipts are posted, and stock transfers are completed, but the analytics dashboard doesn’t reflect these changes until much later. The batch processing seems to be queuing up data rather than providing real-time sync.
We’ve checked the delta loads and they’re scheduled to run every 30 minutes, but even then the data appears delayed. The real-time sync option in the dashboard configuration is enabled, yet we’re not seeing the immediate updates we expected. This delay is affecting our ability to make timely decisions about stock reallocation and order fulfillment.
Is this a known limitation of the 1909 analytics dashboard, or is there a configuration issue we’re missing?
We experienced similar delays in our 1909 system. The problem was the analytics dashboard was configured to use the standard batch extraction chain, which processes data in scheduled intervals. You need to switch to the real-time data acquisition (RDA) framework. Check your dashboard data source settings - there should be an option to enable “Operational Delta Queue” (ODQ) instead of traditional delta queues. ODQ provides near real-time data propagation without waiting for batch jobs.
Don’t forget about the application server cache. Even if data extraction is real-time, the analytics dashboard itself might be caching results. In the dashboard configuration, check the cache refresh settings. You might need to reduce the cache lifetime from the default 60 minutes to something like 5-10 minutes, or disable caching entirely for critical inventory KPIs. Also, verify that users are not looking at cached browser data - force a hard refresh.
Check your BW extraction jobs. Even with real-time enabled, if the underlying extractors aren’t configured for immediate delta, you’ll see delays. Look at transaction RSA3 and test your inventory datasource extractors to see if they’re picking up changes immediately.
